      LANDSCAPE
 In
      the  north
of the Country the valleys and the mountains are covered by the luxuriant
forests of the Golden Triangle. In the center, the sunny plains are
furrowed by the large rivers Mekong and Chao Phraya: an ancient world made
of water and ricefields, where the farmers are still helped by the
      buffaloes to cultivate the land.
In the south you can find the big beaches and the islands of the Gulf of
Siam and of the Andaman Sea.

 | THE NORTHERN
      CITIES
 Where
times goes slow and serene as in the past, marked by the sound of the
bells in the temples of the Buddhist monks and by the ancient rhythm
modulating the life of the villages. It is the other side of the Country,
where the houses (pile-dwellings) are made of dark teak, with small
enamelled terracotta or wooden roofing-tiles. The most important cities,
already developed for tourism, are Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, on the river
      Mae Kok.

THAI
LIFE STYLE
 Smile
always illuminates the face of every Thai. They can always control their
emotions and very seldom show their feelings. A life style stemming from a
secular culture and full of serenity. The Thai people face their life with
philosophy attaching great importance to "sanuk", meaning the
possibility to fully enjoy all that life can reserve.
